BETTER LIFE COUNSELING & CONSULTING, LLC
Quality Care You Can Count On
Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, addiction, anxiety, or major life changes? There comes a time when we need some help from a certified professional to help cope with many of life’s challenges. My name is Anna Murawska and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) practicing in downtown Princeton-currently via telehealth. Life can be overwhelming and sometimes even exhausting, but I’m here to guide you through any obstacles you may face. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply and develop better coping skills to manage stressors. I’d love to help you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.
There are many roads down the path to a better life. Let me help you find the one that is best for you. Alcohol and drug addiction happens in the best of families. Many people engage in addictive behaviors to escape emotional pain- feelings of depression, anxiety, loneliness or anger. Substance use often leads to shame and isolation. Recovery begins with connecting to others who understand you, provide sense of hope and offer a path to a better life.
COMMON REASONS WHY PEOPLE SEEK (TELE)THERAPY
COVID-19 related concerns (insomnia, uncertainty, burnout, etc)
Chemical Addictions (alcohol, prescription medications, illicit drug use)
Life transitions (college, graduate school, marriage, divorce or loss of significant relationship, physical illness or 'empty nest')
In therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior through utilizing several Evidence Based Practices:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principals to identify your thoughts, feelings and behaviors that might compromise your wellness and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles
Solution Focused Brief Therapy - focusing on your present and the future rather than a past. This is considered goal oriented therapy
Motivational Interviewing - counseling approach using directive, client centered style of interaction to promote change by exploring uncertainty and indecision to make changes in your life
Mindfullness- learning how to be aware of a present moment and at the same time acknowledging and accepting your thoughts, feelings and sensations to lower emotional distress and increase day to day life satisfaction
